Notre Dame High School alumni, Hunter Greene (’17) made a statement in his Major League debut on Sunday with the Cincinnati Reds.
Greene was dominant from the start, as he struck out six of his first 10 batters and had nine strikes in just the first inning.
He closed out his first career start with a win, after pitching five innings, allowing just three runs, four hits, three walks and seven strikeouts. Of his 92 pitches, Greene threw 20 fastballs that were above 100 MPH, including his fastest of 102 MPH.
Greene, who is now 1-0 in his major league career, helped lead the Reds to their 6-3 win over the Atlanta Braves.
