LOS ANGELES – Notre Dame High School baseball alumni, Brett Hayes has been promoted to the Texas Rangers bullpen coach, announced by the Rangers organization on Thursday.
A two-year varsity starter for the Knights, Hayes graduated from Notre Dame in 2002, where he then went on to play collegiate baseball at the University of Nevada – Reno, where he was an All-American.
After his career at Nevada, Hayes went on to play for three minor league teams, and six major league teams, including, Florida Marlins, Kansas City Royals, Cleveland Indians, Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago White Sox and the Texas Rangers.
Previous to his promotion, Hayes was the coordinator of run prevention from 2018-21.
